Authentic Montessori Programs

Casa — Ages 3 to 6

The curriculum follows your child's development over 3 years, building a strong foundation in Math, Language, Science, Geography, and Practical Life skills. Your child will remain with the same teacher to develop their sense of stability, trust and confidence.

Montessori experts believe in mixing different age-groups in the classroom. This allows them to work, learn and play together. Our new Toddler & Preschool program will be opening soon in November 2024.

Elementary — Ages 6 to 12

The Lower Elementary (Grades 1 to 3) and Upper Elementary (Grades 4 to 6) are led by AMI teachers dedicated to preserving Dr. Maria Montessori's legacy. The curriculum promotes interdisciplinary learning in math, language, biology, geography, and history, helping children develop their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Bilingual Community

We're not only providing a bilingual environment for children; we're cultivating a community that embodies the synergy of Canada's francophone and anglophone cultures. We believe in the power of bilingualism as a symbol of unity in Ottawa.

Nurturing a Love of Nature

“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Nature plays an integral role in the Montessori classroom. It is through hands-on experience, support from classroom materials, and caring for the beautiful greenhouse at our school that they develop deep knowledge, love, and respect for our living Earth.

What is an Authentic Montessori School?

  • AMI Teachers

Highly trained in the Montessori method with an internationally recognized diploma from the Association Montessori International. A Montessori teacher is a trained observer who embodies humility, love and respect for every child.

  • Prepared Environment

Our specially designed classrooms are equipped with beautiful Montessori materials to develop your child's skills in Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Geography, Culture, Science, and Nature.

  • Multi-Aged Classroom

Children with a three-year age difference create a community-focused atmosphere, supporting one another and fostering mutual learning and growth through diverse levels of maturity, talent, and skill. A multi-aged classroom promotes a sense of community vs. competition.

  • Peaceful

Perhaps the most obvious difference between a Montessori classroom and a conventional school is the overall peacefulness of a Montessori classroom. Children are engaged and happy thereby creating a very peaceful and quiet environment.

“In the nurturing environment of a Montessori classroom, children's minds flourish like delicate flowers, guided by gentle hands.”

— Djamila Sahouli, Head of School and Founder at Blossom Montessori School.
